An ongoing program of recovery

At my wife's request and my family's demand, I entered treatment ... A model patient, I said and did all the right things while I was an inpatient and made gestures at sobriety when I came out, but I had no ongoing program of recovery and soon backslid into using.

Certified Counselling

Are you a certified addiction counsellor?
Of course not, I know what I'm talking about.
Aren't you a bit arrogant?
Not at all. I believe that the counsellors are arrogant who simply pass an exam but have never had any personal experience of addiction.
Well, you wouldn't require veterinarians to turn into horses first, right?
No, but addicts have special radars, they can smell other addicts, and they simply do not trust counsellors whose only qualification is to be certified by the system a lot of addicts, seemingly, do not want to be part of.
