You seem to take out of life about what you put into it. If you disobey the laws of nature, the chances are that you will be unhealthy. If you disobey the spiritual and moral laws, the chances are that you will be unhappy. By following the laws of nature and the spiritual laws of honesty, purity, unselfishness, and love, you can expect to be reasonably healthy and happy.

Junkies verblöden

Die meisten Junkies verblöden. Und das war letztlich der entscheidende Grund, der mich zur Umkehr bewegte. Wir kennen nur ein Thema, und das ist der Stoff. Geht's nicht ein wenig intelligenter? Warum hänge ich mit diesen Nullen rum? Die sind langweilig. Schlimmer noch, viele sind absolut intelligente Menschen, die aber alle irgendwie wissen, dass sie sich haben täuschen lassen.

Andrerseits ... warum eigentlich nicht? Jeder lässt sich von irgendwas täuschen, wir wissen wenigstens, dass wir uns zum Affen machen. Keiner ist ein Held, nur weil er Drogen nimmt. Aber man könnte einer werden, wenn man es schafft, die Finger davon zu lassen. Ich liebte das Zeug. Aber irgendwann reichte es. Ausserdem schränkt es den Horizont so ein, bis man schliesslich nur noch Junkies kennt. Ich musste meinen Horizont erweitern.

Natürlich erkennt man das alles erst, wenn man den Ausstieg geschafft hat. Dafür sorgt schon der Stoff. Wie gesagt: Er ist die verführerischste Hure der Welt.
